Karma determines.

if you take the character of any man, it really is but the aggregate of tendencies, the sum total of the bent of his mind, you will find that misery and happiness are equal factors in the formation of that character. in fact misery may be a greater teacher, poverty than wealth and blows than praises. no one can get anything unless he earns it. a fool may buy all the books in the world and they will be in his library he will be able to read only what he deserves to. karma determines what we deserve and what we can assimilate. the gradest idea in the religion of the vedanta is that we may reach the same goal by different paths i.e. work, love, psychology, and knowledge. these divisions are not very marked and quiet exclusive to each other, for each blends into the other. everything and every one around is struggling for freedom. the saint is oppressed with his knowledge of his condition of bondage and wants to get rid of it. so he worships God. The thief is oppressed with the idea that he does not possess certain things so to get rid of that want to obtain freedom from it he steals. The freedom which the saint seeks leads him to the enjoyment of the infinite, unspeekable bliss while that of the thief has set his soul on other bonds. Karma yoga is a system of ethics and religion intended to attain freedom through unselfishness and by good work. The karma yogi need not believe in any doctrine whatever, he may not believe even in God, may not ask whathis soul is nor think of any metaphysical speculation, he has got his onw special aim of realising selflessness, and has to work it out himself.every moment of his life must be realisation, because he has to solve by mere work, without the help of doctrine or theory, the very same problem to which the jnani applies his reason and inspiration and the bhakta his love. what is the work then? doing good to the world!!!! in absolute sense no in relative sense yes. no permanent or everlasting good can be done to the world.we may satisfy say the hunger of man for a little time but soon he will be hungry again. so also every pleasure we supply mzn is momentary. the sum total of the good things in the world has been the same throughout. but there has been there has been an effort to elevate it. it only pushes from one side to the other. try to disturb the water you will find every particle of the water trying to become calm again. so also all things in the universe are trying to get back the perfect balance.. Buddha is the only one to have achieved it. by doing good and being good and this will take you to freedom. the greatest philosopher preaching the highest philosophy, yet has the deepest sympathy for the lowst of animals and not putting forth any claim thus being the highest karma yogi. A great combination of heart and brain that ever existed.
