The temple authorities were engaged in the work of deciphering the inscription on the walls of the Tirumala Temple in the year 1922. As they did this they stumbled upon a small stone cell next to the Ramanujacharya shrine opp the hundi, the stone cell had a door in the middle, the doors of the stone cell were opened, within the cell lay hidden a large number of copper plates with hymns engraved on them. they were the works of the Talappaka family of poets over 400 years old nearly 2700 plates were found all numbered and in order some plates were missing. a mention of these collections were first made by Campbell when he authored a book Grammar of Telugu Literature in its introduction there is a mention that some thousand plates of copper on which are engraved some poems have been preserved by a group of pious brahmins on the sacred hill at Tirupati. This is the earliest mention of this very precious find. the first plate has an introduction and the plates are numbered and in order.
some rare songs all in the sweetest Telugu language.

This is the famed Putrotsavam on this earth,
today is Krishna jayanthi o folks!
the one who has the entire brahmanda in his stomach
amazingly he was borne by Devaki in her womb.
The one could not be percieved by devatas even upon searching here.
How could Vasudeva see him O! folks.
The highest of the highest Lord Purushothama today
has amazingly become a baby in the cradle. O Folks the one who partakes all the yaga offerings eternally.
as a baby son he is suckling the breasts of his mother o folks.'
being the son in law of the milky ocean and never being seperated from it here
how is it that the festival of breaking the milk pots hung high has become his passion.
being used to sporting upon the venkatadri hills,
his baby like prattles are ever increasing O Folks!

how much ever one examines how much ever one studies
can one understand the glory of your wonderful form?
In this world one cannot fathom the depth of the ocean.
the extent of the sky cannot be told,
the number of atoms of the earth cannot be counted.
O Lord of sree is it ever possible to explain your glory.
It is not possible to tie up the air into a bundle,
one cannot obstruct the progress of time,
one cannot perceive the ends of the four directions
O Lotus eyed lord can one ever imagine your true form
one cannot win over your absolute maya
one cannot control the mind even upon resolving
O consort of Alamelumanga surrender unto you is the only means
Sri Venkatesa is it possible to reach unto you and worship you?

Having born as mortal (human being) and having served mortals (human beings), should you continue to suffer everyday? (Why should you suffer serving human beings? Instead, serve the Lord.)
You penetrate into the forbidden places for a small stomach; you beseech for a fistful of food; you yearn to live a happy life at your own place and indulge in such similar futile exercises, instead —
Serve the Lord who is born with you, who is mingling with you, and who is just around you (to help you); Service that handsome Lord Venkateswara (that beautiful image of the Lord) whereby scale that summit which is not easily possible.
