Angiras, Bhrgu, Gargi, Ghora Angirasa, Haridrumata, Mahidasa Aitareya, Narada, Pippalada, Raikva, Sanatkumara, Sandilya, Satyakama Jabala, Uddalaka, Aruni, Vamadeva and Varuna.
Yama the God of death, Prajapati the creator, great kings like Janaka, Ajatasatru and Pravahana Jaivali also appear in the role of teachers. All of them were revered for their knowledge and excellence irrespective of their birth caste or sex.
