Sakradeva prapannaaya
Tavaasmeethi cha yaachate
Abhayam sarva bhootebhyo
Dadasmi etad vratam mama
(Ramayana yuddhakanda ch 18 v 33)
Whoever surrenders to me even once and says that he belongs to me, to such a being, be it man or animal , I would give abhaya.
This was said by Sri Rama when Vibhishana sought refuge at his feet.
