A P

Swami Vedantha Desikan is one of the greatest teachers of Vaishnavism following Saint Ramanuja. He is well known for his divine works on Sanskrit. They are all drenched in devotion and also are the guidelines to the principles followed by the followers of Visistadvaitha. Adaikkala Pathu is one of his great Tamil works and has been taken from

http://www.prapatti.com/slokas/tamil/desika-prabandham/adaikkalappattu.pdf

.Detailed meaning and commentary of this great work is given in

http://www.sundarasimham.org/ebooks/ebook31.htm.

Adaikkalam or absoulute surrender to God has been the most important method of approach leading to God among the followers of Vishishtadvaitha. This work deals with detailed method of Adaikkalam . The God addressed here is Lord Varadaraja of Kanchipuram whose temple stands on a hill called Hastha giri ).

1.Pathi mudhalaam mavathil , pathi yenakku koodamal,

Yethisayum uzhandru odi ilaithu vizhum kakam pol,

Muthi tharum nagar ezhil mukkiyamaam kachi thannil,

Athigiri arul aalarkku , adaikaalam naan pugundhene.

Since I was not able to practice the path of devotion to attain salvation,

Like the crow which ran in all directions got very tired and fell at his feet ,

I surrendered to the blessed god Varadaraja presiding over Hasthagiri,

In the town of Kanchipuram , the greatest blessed towns,

Among the seven towns that lead to salvation.

2.Chadai mudiyan, chathur mukanendru , ivar mudhalaam tharam yellam,

Adaya vinai payanagi , azhindu vidum padi kandu,

Kadi malarial piriyatha kachi nagar athi giri,

Idamudaya arulaalar , inay adikal adainthene.

Having seen that the status of Shiva, Brahma and other Gods ,

Would dilapidate due to the karmas that they have done,

I reached the twin feet of the great God of Hasthigiri of Kanchi

From whom the goddess Lakshmi never ever separates.

3.Thanthirangal verindri thamathu vazhi azhiyaadhu,

Manthirangal thammalum , mathumulla urayalum,

Antharam kandu adi panivaar, anaivarkkum arul puriyum ,

Sinthura ver piraiyavanaar , seelam allathu ariyene.

Without finding any solutions, sticking to his position,

They chant the mantras and use the explanations available,

And seeing the differences they would salute the one who blesses all,

The Varadaraja of Kanchi , whose goodness only I know.

4.Kakam irakkadhan, mannar kadali kathira panthu,

Nagam aran ayan mudhalaa naga nakaraar thamakkum,

Bhogamyuar veedu pera ponnarul cheythamai kandu,

Naga malai nayakanar nalladi podadainthene.

Seeing that that he was giving the golden choice

Between pleasures and salvation to the crow,

The Rakshasa, the king’s wife , his royal relations, Brahma and the devas

I attained the feet of the lord of the elephant mountain.

5.Ukakkum avai uhandhu , ukava anaithum ozhinthu, thuuravu guna,

Miga thunivu pera unarnthu, viyan kavalena varithu,

Jagathil oru pugal illa thavam ariyen mathi kachi,

Nagar karunai nathanai nalla adaikkalamy adainthene.

Choosing those which are suitable , leaving out all that are not suitable,

Understanding his relation with great courage, taking him as one who guards,

And understanding that there is no greater penance than surrender to him.

I made a complete surrender to the merciful lord of Kanchi.

6.Alavudayar adaintharkkum , athan uraye kondavarkkum,

Valavurai thandhavan arule , manniya mathavathorkkum,

Kalavozhivaar amar yena, isainthavarkkum kavalaraam,

Thulava mudi arul varadar , thuvakkil yenai vaithene.

Unlike those great people who surrender or those who depend on the ,

Great teaching of others to surrender or those who depend on their teacher,

To help them complete the surrender or those who depend,

On other great devotees dear to lord to help them complete their surrender,

I have completed my surrender with the Varadan ,who gives boon of salvation.,

To all those who surrender by any of the four methods.

7. Umadhu adikal adaikendren yendru oru naal uraithavarai.

Amayum ini yenbavar pol , anjal yena karam vaithu,

Thamadhu anaithum avar thamakku vazhangiyum thaam miga vilangum,

Amaivudaya arulaalar adiyinayai adainthene.

To the one who told that he would surrender to his feet one day,

He Kept his hand on him telling him not to be afraid ,

As if assuring him that everything would be all right from that time ,

And also giving all that he has to him and he was happy by doing that,

And I reached to surrender at the feet of that great Lord.

8.Thinamai kuryamaikkum , niraikaikkum thee vinayaal,

Unmai maravamaikkum , ula mathiyil ugakkaikkum,

Thaami kazhiyamaikkum tharikkaikkukm, thanikkaikkum,

Vanmai yudai arulalar vachakangal maravene.

For not getting my faith diminished , for getting filled up with wisdom,

For not ever forgetting the truth due to the sins committed by me,

For filling up my mind with happiness due to the surrender,

For not forgetting about my disability , for continuing with this state of surrender ,

And not to feel the problems of this normal life of the world,

I would not forget the teachings of the very powerful Lord.

9.Surithi ninivu ivai ariyum , thunivudayor thoo mozhigal,

Parithimathi aasiriyar pasuram chernthu arukkanangal,

Karuthiyoru theli vaalaal kalakkam aruthathathu kiri,

Parithi mathi nayanamudai paraman adi paninthene.

From the holy words of those great people who knew ,

The Vedas and the Smruthis , from the holy pasurams,

And from the words great ones having brain as bright as the Sun,

I cut off my confusions and attained clarity of thought,

And surrendered at the feet of the God who had sun and moon as his eyes.

10.Thirumagalum, thiruvadivum , thiruvarulum, thellarivum,

Marumai ilamayum uravum, alappariya vadivarasum,

Karumam azhippu alippu amaippum , kalakkam ilaa vagai nindra,

Arul varadar nilai ilakkil , ambena naan amizhndene.

With Goddess Lakshmi, a pretty form , divine grace and knowing everything,

With easy access to devotes and good relation with them , with immeasurable form,

With the duty of creation, upkeep and destruction and standing with stability sans confusion,

Varada with divine grace is a stable aim and I attain and merge with him like an arrow.

11.Aaru payan verilla adiyavar kal anaivarukkum,

Ma ru m athan payanum ivai oru kaalum pala kaalum,

Aaru payan yenave kandu , arul aalar adiyinai mel,

Kooriya narkunai uraigal , ivai pathum kothilave.

For all those devotees who do not have any other method,

These would be useful to bring them peace ,once or forever

And after understanding that these are going to be useful,

These ten verses were told at the lotus like feet of the great god .

Kavi tharka simhaya kalyani guna shaline ,

Srimathe venkatesaya Vedantha gurave nama.

My salutations to Sri Venkatesa, the teacher of Vedas,

Who is a lion in the debates and among poets,

And is blessed with all auspicious characters.

From another blog.

Desika is a Sanskrit word which means “Acharya”. In our srivaishnava sampradayam there are numerous acharyas starting from Nammazhvar to present day acharyas, it is only Swami desika is addressed respectfully as “Desika”. This is like calling srirangam perumal as nam perumal and addressing Shatakopan as Namaazhvaar.

Swami desika’s parents were childless for long time and one day Lord Srinivasa of Seven Hills, Tirupati has ordered them to go for a pilgrimage to Tiruppati.

The Lord appeared in their dreams in the garb of a Srivaishnava youth and handed over a small golden bell which Totaramba swallowed.

During an investigation ordered into the loss of the bell, the Lord appeared by Avesa (spiritual trance) on Tirumalai Nambi and told that He had himself presented the bell to the Ananthasuri couple and thenceforward, the small hand- bell need not be used in the Tiruvaradhana in the temple. Even today. when the Naivedyam is offered to the lord, it is the only the huge bell, suspended in the front hall that is being rung.

12 years after this incident, the Ganta of the Lord was born as Gantaavataara Aazhwar. The Avatara of Thooppul Kulamani was in the Kali yuga year 4370 which corresponds to 1268 AD 9I,e)Year Vibhava, month Purattaasi, on the Dasami day of Sukla Paksha, a Wednesday, in the constellation of Sravanam ( the same as that of Lord of Tirumalai).

Swami Desikan was born in Thooppul, near Tiruttangaa (Himavanam) adjacent to the temple of Deepa Prakaasar in Kanchipuram, the birthplace of Poigai Alwar. As he was born during the Theerthotsava of Tiruvenkadamudaiyaan, appullaar, his uncle named him "Venkatanathan".

After Abdapoorthi (the first birthday) he took the child to "Per aruLaLan Temple" at Kanchi, near Madras, India.

The Lord blessed the child to become the "beacon light" of "Srivaishnava Darsanam" like Ramanuja.

Swami Desika himself mentions this in his "Amritha Ranjanai", thus: "Anre Adaikkalam Konda Nam Athigiri Thirumaal".

The child had his choulam in the 3rd year and Aksharaabhyaasam in the 5th year.

One day, Swami Appullaar took the boy, who was then hardly 5 years of age, with him to the Eastern praakaaram of Lord Varadaraja temple to attend the Sri Bhashya Kalakshepam of Nadaadur Ammaal. Ammaal was so impressed with the captivating brilliance of the kid that he stopped the discourse to exchange pleasantries. Later, when he tried to resume the discourse, Ammaal was fumbling as to the context where he left off. Our Thooppul Pillai reminded him of the context. Ammaal was overwhelmed and took the boy on his lap, hugged him and blesssed him saying:-

"Pratishtapita Vedaantah Prati- Kshipta Bahir Mathaa

Bhooyaah Traividyaa Maanyas Tvam Bhoori Kalyaana Bhaajanam"

Meaning - " You will establish Vedanta on a firm footing demolishing the misrepresentations of other faiths". Even today, one can see the painting of the scene of Ammaal blessing the boy on the ceiling in front of the Kachi Vaithaan Mandapam in the temple of Lord Varadaraja in Kanchipuram. He made Appullaar to initiate the boy in all the Sastras and other esoteric doctrines.

Swami Desikan's Studentship

Duly performing the Upanayanam at Garbhaashtamam(i.e.) at the age of 7.

Swami Appullaar initiated the boy into Veda Adhyayanam, Saamaanya Sastras, Sri Bhashya and various other scriptures. Swami Appullaar was surprised to notice that the boy was precociously so smart, as to grasp all that he was taught almost instantly ("Eka Sandha Graahi").

By the age of 20, Swami Desikan had become an unparalleled Vidwaan to such an extent that the elders wondered whether he was combined incarnation of Azhwaars, Sriman Nathamunigal, Swami Alavandaar, Udaiyavar, Pillaan, Aachaan, and other exponents, of our Sri Sampradaayam, who seemed to have entered Swami Desikan's Soul (Aavesha Avataaram). Swami Desikan himself says in Sankalpa Suryodaya, "Vimsati Abde Visrutha Naanaa Vidha Vidyaah".

Swami Desikan at Srirangam :

When some of the orthodox people objected to recite of 4000 Divya Prabandam in the temple, on the grounds that they included the works of Non -Brahmin Alwars, written in Dravida Baasha and Tiruvoimozhi in particular dealt with Kaama that was taboo for them. Swami argued with them and convinced them that the holy collects were equal to the Vedas since they contained all that was in the Vedas, that since they were in praise of the Lord, the language did not matter and that the Kaama spoken of was nothing but absolute devotion to the Lord . He re-instituted the practice of 'Adhyayana Utsava'- the ceremonial honoring of the Alwars.

Azhagiya Manavaala Naayanaar, brother of Sri Pillai Lokachaarya and our Swami Desikan, went to worship Lord Ranganatha. The Naayanaar was captivated by the feet of the Lord and wanted to compose a Stotra praising the same. Our Swami felt that the Divya Mani Paadukaas of the Lord were equally captivating and offered to compose a Stotram on the Sandals of the Lord. before daybreak the next day. But, he had slept almost till the small hours of the morning of the appointed day. When there was hardly a couple of hours to go before sunrise, the agitated disciples woke him up to remind him of his promise. Instantly, he commenced pouring out with bewildering rapidity an epic 'Paaduka Sahasram' and completed it well before daybreak. The 1,000 verses of this epic is an example of literary excellence and lofty thoughts- a wonderful masterpiece of how a single subject like the sandals could be expressed in so many different ways and yet hold up the imagination and interest of the audience!

Swami Desikan's last days

Having lived a full and rich life for 101 years and satisfied with his work on earth, Swami Desika cast his tabernacle of flesh, praying to Udaiyavar and Appullaar by placing their Paadukas on his head which he kept on the lap of Nainarachar and his feet on the lap of Brahma Tantra Svatantrarar, while his Sishyas chanted Tiruvoimozhi and Upanishads. He attained Paramapadam in Sowmya year in the month Kartigai in the asterism of Kartikai. In the Kali yuga year 4471 which corresponds to 1369 AD.

A number of 'Thaniyans ' (laudatory dedication verses) were dedicated to him.

(1) His son Varadacharya implores "the great lion of poetics and dialectics and the great preceptor of Vedanta (that Swami Venkatanatha was ) should reside in his heart always."

"Sriman Venkata Natharyah Kavitarkika Kesari |

Vedantacharya Varyo Mey Sannidhattam Sadaa Hridhi ||"

Another thaniyan was by his disciple Brahma Tantra Swatantra which says:- " I salute the great Venkata Natha also called Vedanta Acharya and Lion among poets and logicians and who was well adorned by both Knowledge and discretion and who well deserved the grace of Srimad Ramanuja":

"Sri Ramanuja Daya Patram Gnana Vairaghya Bushanam |

Srimad Venkata Natharyam Vande Vedanta Desikam ||"

Pillai Lokaachaarya, the aachaaryan of Tenkalai Sampradaayam lavished a praise on Swami Desika that " For a person who desires to ascend up to the Heavens, even a single statement of the great Acharya , Tooppul Tiuvenkadamudaiyan ( Vedanta Desika ) uttered by him for the benefit of humanity would be sufficient to lift him up to his desired goal

"Seeronru Tooppul Tiruvenkata mudaiyan Par onra chonna pazhamozhiyul |

OronRu thane Amaiyado Dharaniyil Vazhvorkku Vanerap Pomalavum Vazhvu ||"

It is really intriguing to find that when all these leaders of the stature of Brahma Tantra Swatantrar and Pillai Lokaachaarya, have been honest in their approbation and lavish in their praise of this towering personality, some people try to totally black out any reference to Swami Vedanta Desika (while dwelling on Guru Parampara) as if he never existed or if he did, he was a persona- non- grata. This attempt is like that of the proverbial cat that closes its eyes and imagines that the world had disappeared!. This is also like an attempt to cover up the bright Sunshine in the sky with a handkerchief.

Others, grudgingly mention and that too very casually, perhaps, by way of concession - about this great Colossus who strode over the Srivaishnava firmament like the lion among poets and logicians and shines to this day and forever, as an unfailing source of inspiration and guidance to genuine Srivaishnavas.

Rare

It’s not often that a sustained note followed by a trill, played on a flute, makes headlines around the world. Most of the story ran as a human interest item. Conservative publications in the United States expressed outrage. Andrew McCarthy, a Republican, was quoted as saying that all those involved “should be deported.” And that’s a mild example.

On September 27, 2022, Grammy-award-winning American singer and rapper Lizzo’s performance was interrupted when Carol Lynn Ward-Bamford, curator of the Library of Congress flute collection, walked on stage with a 200-year-old flute. “I want everybody to make some noise for James Madison’s crystal flute, y’all!” Lizzo yelled before making history.

It is believed that President Madison’s flute has seldom, if ever, been played. The flute was made by Claude Laurent of Paris in 1813. Madison never acknowledged the gift. “Mr. President, I took the liberty of sending to you about three years ago a crystal flute of my invention. Please allow me to express to you the desire that I would have to learn if it has reached you and if this feeble homage to my industry has been agreeable to you,” Laurent wrote.

The flute is reputed to be one of two items rescued by Dolley Madison when the British invaded Washington in 1812. The other item was a portrait of George Washington. The Library of Congress has the world’s largest collection of flutes—more than 18,000. To publicise the collection and popularise it with younger generations, the Librarian of Congress, Carla Hayden, invited Lizzo to inspect the flutes. Besides being a rap star known for her twerking, Lizzo is a classically trained flutist.

When Lizzo asked if she could play the Madison flute at her upcoming Washington concert, the custodians readily agreed. Elaborate security measures were put in place, and Lizzo was asked to only play the instrument for a few seconds. The reasonss that those few seconds resonated around the world are profound and go beyond the age and value of the instrument.

Maryada

Traditionally, astrology is taught using the birth chart of Lord Rama. He is called the ‘Maryada Purushotama’ or the ideal man. So, being a divine incarnation of Lord Vishnu as well as an exemplary man, his chart must have indications of his uniqueness.

Sun Placement Controversy

As per the respected Astrology expert Shri K. N. Rao, Navami Tithi requires that there should be 96 degrees between the Sun and the Moon. So, if Moon is in Punarvasu, that is, within 3 degrees and 20 minutes of Cancer, the Sun has to be in Pisces. It is only if the Sun were in Pisces/Meena could the Tithi be Navami. However, most of the astrologers place the Sun in the 10th house. So, the 5 planets that are exalted (Uccha) or in own (Swa) house are Jupiter exalted in Cancer/Karkata, Moon in own house Cancer/Karkata, Saturn exalted in Libra/Tula, Mars exalted in Capricorn/Makara and Venus exalted in Pisces/Meena.

The Birth Chart With The More Controversial Mercury And Sun Placements

The More Commonly Used Birthchart Of Lord Rama

Some astrologers who interpret the Shloka as five exalted planets instead of five ‘own and exalted’, place the Sun in Aries. The Sun in this position gives a Chakravarthy Yoga that gives health power and greatness.

Mercury And Saturn Placement

Mercury as the third lord in 10th house shows that the younger siblings do well. So, Mercury the 12th lord aspecting the 4th house also indicates the exile of Lord Ram. Saturn in the 4th house indicates separation or going away from the home. This happened in the life of Lord Rama. Also, Saturn in the 4th house is the 7th lord in the 4th house. When Mercury is in the 10th house it aspects the 7th lord which also indicates that Sita also went to the forest with Lord Ram. Saturn in the 4th gave Lord Ram a very steady, focused and enduring nature. It also spoiled his married life and his ascending to the throne by its aspect on the 7th and 10th houses.

The argument for the placement of Mercury in the 11th house shows that the planet that denotes the intelligence of the person is in the house of gain. It is also the house of friends and we see in the life of Lord Rama that he had many friends who helped him through the struggles to get Sita back. However, this Mercury being the lord of the 12th (loss, long-travel away from birthplace) and also the third lord (brothers) caused the loss, as well as an exile and the throne given to the brother of Lord Ram.

Yogas

Moon and an exalted Jupiter in the first house form a beautiful Gaja Kesari Yoga that matches with Lord Rama’s life. It indicates his knowledge, virtuousness and wisdom. Exalted Jupiter receives the aspect of exalted Mars making a person with Dharma and moral strength that is unparalleled. Mars also harms his marital happiness. This same exalted Mars made Lord Ram a warrior par excellence.

The Maha Purusha Yogas that are seen in this chart are Hamsa Yoga, Shasha Yoga and Ruchaka Yoga. Venus in the 9th is a good placement for wealth and fortune. But as Venus is not a good planet for the Cancer Lagna it also soured his marital life. Rahu in the 6th in Sagittarius matches the image we have of Lord Ram as a warrior bearing a bow.

Beginners can learn the many benefits of exalted planets and the wonderful Yogas that are present in the chart. They can also learn how even when well placed, a malefic planet’s aspect will cause havoc in some area.

SRI RAMA'S BIRTH DATE AND NASA'S PLANETARIUM SOFTWARE

This post in no manner claims that the birth of Sri Rama occurred on the date that has been calculated by the Planetarium Software of NASA. But this post does uphold the view that Sri Rama could not have been born on any date later than the one calculated by Planetarium Software. Here's why:

According to Valmiki Ramayana, Sri Rama was born on the 9th day or the ninth tithi, also known as Navami, of the waxing moon fortnight, otherwise known as 'Shukla Paksh', in the month of Chaitra, sometime in antiquity.

The other pointers to the planetary positions at the time of Sri Rama's birth in Valmiki Ramayana are that Sri Ram's birth ascendant was Cancer, the day was advancing which indicates that the birth happened between 12 noon and 1 pm, that five of the seven planets were exalted. It also says that Moon was placed with Jupiter. In saying that the presiding deity is Aditi, Rishi Valmiki indicates that Sri Rama was born in the Punarvasu Nakshatra.

This also indicates that Moon had to be located between 0 degrees to 3.20 degrees of Cancer, since it is only between 0-3'20 degrees of Cancer, when Moon is associated with Cancer in the Punarvasu Nakshatra.

In one shot Rishi Valmiki describes all the planetary positions we need to calculate Sri Rama's birth chart. Here is the verse from Valmiki Ramayana:

By deduction we also know that Sun was in Aries, Mars in Capricorn, Jupiter in Cancer, Venus in Pisces and Saturn in Libra. Sun and Venus are always within 47 degrees of each-other and that condition is fulfilled if Sun is in Aries and Venus is in Pisces. If Sun and Venus are exalted, Mercury cannot be exalted because Mercury is always within 28 degrees of the Sun. If Sun is in Aries, Mercury cannot be in its exaltation sign Virgo. Aries and Virgo are too far apart.

Since Moon and Jupiter are together in Cancer in the first house or ascendant, it caused one of the best forms of Gaj Kesari Yoga. Jupiter is exalted, and Moon is in its own sign in Cancer. What could be better than that! And five exalted planets made him divine, an emperor whose fame has refused to fade away. But we are looking at Lord Rama's planetary positions here from a point of view of astronomy, and not astrology! Though both are intricately tied up with one another!!

This planetary data was fed into the Planetarium Software, a software which is now declassified, (it was earlier not available to public) and was used by NASA to calculate the exact position of planets for any given date - past, present or future, within a limit (unknown). The closest date from today into the past, for which the planetary data of Lord Rama's birth fits in, is 10th January, 5114 BC. Since then, this combination has never occurred in the skies which implies Sri Ram was born no later than 5114 BC.

On January 10th 5114 BC, Sun is exalted in Aries, exalted Jupiter and Moon are in Gaj Kesari Yoga in Cancer, Saturn is exalted in Libra, Mars is exalted in Capricorn, Venus is exalted in Pisces,

but Mercury is debilitated in Pisces.

Calculations as per the Planetarium Software

So why does Sri Ram's birth in 5114 BC fall in the month of January and not in March-April as it does today. In other words, why does lunar month Chaitra coincide with March-April and not with January as it did in 5114 BC. This is due to the shift in the precession of the equinox.

The Shift of the Precession of the Equinox: The positions of the Equinoxes move westward along the ecliptic compared to the fixed stars on the celestial sphere. This annual motion is about 1 degree every 71.6 years. A complete Precession cycle covers a period of 25,765 (71.6 * 360) years, during which time the equinox regresses over 360°. This journey over 25,765 years covers the 12 zodiacs of the sky so that the sun rises on the vernal equinox in the same zodiac for about 2,150 years.

Today, the Sun rises in the background of Pisces on the vernal equinox. We are almost at the end of this cycle. The Sun will rise in the background of Aquarius from 2150 AD onward. 2150 years back (calculated from 2150 AD) that is from 1 AD to 2150 BC, the Sun rose with Aries in the background of vernal equinox, another 2150 years before that, i.e. 4300-2151 BC, in Taurus and from 6450 - 4300 BC in Gemini! This almost 4 sign-shift in the precession of the equinox accounts for the roughly 4- month shift from January to April in Sri Ram's birthday month of Chaitra.

But one cannot jump to any conclusions with the results of this calculation. To prove exactly when Sri Rama walked the earth in a human avatar all other details mentioned by Valmiki must be analysed.

One such detail is the mention of the four-tusked elephant that Sri Hanuman sees at Ravana's palace at Lanka.  The four-tusked elephant lived from 12 million to 1.6 million ago when it became extinct.

Research and studies are going on around the world onthe extinct four-tusked elephant

Given this time frame, measuring the antiquity of the Ramayana in terms of the 'yugas' that the Rishis have mentioned is far more scientific than the few thousand years we are allowed to think by mainline historians. And to pass off facts, only because they are beyond our comprehension, as myths is the biggest disservice.

what.

This interesting optical illusion personality test will reveal your communication skills and deepest hidden personality traits. What do you see in this image first - male legs or female legs?

Illusion Personality Test: Optical illusions are fascinating pieces of visual information that play tricks on our minds, revealing much more than meets the eye. Interestingly, these illusions can also act as windows into our personalities, offering insights into how we perceive the world and ourselves.

One such optical illusion created by the late Japanese artist Shigeo Fukuda in 1975 involves an image that may appear to show either male or female legs at first glance. The interpretation of this image can uncover aspects of our communication skills and hidden personality traits.

Male Legs

If you first see male legs in the illusion, you tend to have a straightforward and assertive communication style. You are often direct in your interactions, valuing clarity and efficiency over ambiguity. You likely exhibit strong leadership qualities, decisiveness, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Your personality traits include confidence, independence, and a tendency to be goal-oriented. You prefer engaging in clear, concise dialogues and are not afraid to voice your opinions, making you an effective communicator in both personal and professional settings.

You are well-suited for leadership roles, such as CEO, manager, or entrepreneur. Careers in law, engineering, and finance may also align with your direct communication style and decision-making skills. Your assertiveness and clarity in conveying ideas make you an excellent candidate for positions in project management and consultancy.

Female Legs

If you saw female legs in the illusion, you typically possess a more empathetic and nuanced communication style. You are sensitive to the emotions and perspectives of others, which makes you an excellent listener and mediator. Your approach to interaction is characterized by patience, understanding, and a preference for harmony.

Your personality traits include creativity, open-mindedness, and a strong intuition. You value emotional connections and are adept at reading between the lines, which enables you to navigate complex social dynamics and foster deep, meaningful relationships.

Your empathetic and nuanced communication style thrives in roles such as a counsellor, social worker, or HR specialist. Creative fields like graphic design, writing, or marketing can benefit from your intuition and open-mindedness. Your ability to understand and connect with others makes you ideal for customer service and public relations.

Sri Bajrang Baan

Om Sri Hanumāte Namah

nishchaya prema pratīti té

binaya kare sanamān

téhi ke kāraja sakala shubha

siddha karéñ hanumān

Those devotees who recite these verses with love and unwavering faith have all their beneficial desires fulfilled by Hanuman.

jaya hanumanta santa hitakāri

suni lījai prabhu araja hamārī

jana ke kāja bilamba na kījai

ātura dauri mahā sukha dījai

Glory to Hanuman, the benefactor of saints. Please listen to our prayer. Do not delay in doing the work of your devotees. Please rush to do it and give us immense peace.

jaisé kūdi sindu wahi pārā

surasā badana paiṭhi vistārā

āgé jā-i laṅkinī rokā

māréhu lāta ga-ī suralokā

[Come running] just like when you leapt across the ocean, entered and then emerged from the expanded mouth of Surasa [who tried to obstruct your path], and on landing in Lanka sent the demoness Lankini to the heavenly abode by kicking her to death [when she tried to prevent you from entering the city].

jāya vibhīshaṇa ko sukha dīnhā

sītā nirakhi parama pada līnhā

bāga ujāri sindhu mahaṅ borā

ati ātura yamakātura torā

In Lanka you gave pleasure to Vibhishan [by meeting him] and attained the supreme position [of being loved by Sri Ram] due to Sita’s merciful benediction. Then you laid waste the Ashoka grove and dumped the trees in the ocean, symbolically breaking the knife of Yama, the God of Death.

akshay kumār ko māri saṅhārā

lūma lapéti laṅka ko jārā

lāha samāna laṅka jari gaī

jaya jaya dhuni surapura manha bhaī

You killed Akshay Kumar (Ravana’s son) and burnt Lanka with your tail. Lanka burned like lac (molten wax) and the heavens were filled by the sound of “Hail to Hanuman’s glory”.

aba bilamba kéhi kāraṇa swāmi

kṛpā karahu ura antarayāmī

jaya jaya lakhana prāṇa ké dātā

ātura ho-i dukha karahu nipātā

Why are you delaying now my Lord; you know what resides in the minds of your devotees, so have mercy on me. Glory to you who restored the life of Lakshman. Quickly dispel my fears.

jai giridhara jai jai sukha sāgara

sura samūha samarata bhaṭa nāgara

oṁ hanu hanu hanu hanumanta hatīlé

bairihiñ māru vajra ké kīlé

Hail to you, holder of the mountain! You are an ocean of happiness, wisest amongst gods and the most skillful. O you of indomitable spirit kill the enemies (lust, anger, greed…) as if they were nailed by the strike of a thunderbolt.

gadā vajra lai bairihiñ māro

mahārāja prabhu dāsa ubāro

oṁkāra huñkāra mahāvīra dhāvau

vajra gadā hanu vilamba na lāvo

O Lord! Relieve your servant by hitting the enemies with your mace as if it were a thunderbolt. Saying the thundering sound of OM, challenge the enemies and crush them with your mace.

oṁ hrīm hrim hrim hanumanta kapīsā

oṁ huñ huñ huñ hanu ari ura shīshā

satya hohu hari shapata pāyaké

rāmadūta dharu māru dhāyaké

O Hanuman, Lord of the Monkeys, I invoke you with the Tantric mantra Oṁ hrīm hrīm hrīm and Oṁ huñ huñ huñ. Strike the enemy in the chest and head. I swear by the name of Hari that all that I say is the truth. O messenger of Sri Ram, rush to attack the enemy at once.

jaya jaya jaya hanumanta agādhā

dukha pāvata jana kéhi aparādhā

pūjā japa tapa néma achārā

nahiñ jānata hauñ dāsa tumhārā

Glory to you, o fathomless Hanuman! Due to which offence is your devotee suffering so much? This servant of yours knows nothing of worship, sacred mantras, penance, or the discipline of rituals and virtuous acts

bana upavana maga giri gṛha māhīñ

tumhare bala ham darapata nāhiñ

pānya parauñ kara jori manāvaūñ

yahi avasara aba kéhi gohrāvaūñ

Relying on your strength, I have no fear anywhere – whether in the forest, garden, mountains, on the road, or in the house. I fall at your feet and entreat you with folded hands [to help me]. For whom else shall I call at this hour?

jaya anjanī kumāra balavantā

shaṅkara suvana bīra hanumantā

badana karāla kāla kula ghālaka

rāma sahāya sadā pratipālaka

Hail Hanuman! All-powerful son of Anjani and brave son of Shiva. You have a fierce and terrifying body and are the slayer of even the God of Death’s minions. You are always by the side of Sri Ram and are the benefactor of all.

bhūta, preta, pisācha, nisāchara

agni baitāla kāla māri mara

inhéṅ māru tohi shapatha rāma ki

rākhu nātha maryāda nāma ki

Slay all evil spirits: ghosts, spirits, hobgoblins, demons, fire, vampires, calamities, and epidemics. Kill all of them in the name of Lord Sri Ram thereby maintaining the sanctity and truth of the holy name.

janakasutā hari dāsa kahāvo

tākī shapata bilamba na lāvo

jaya jaya jaya dhuni hota akāshā

sumirata hota dusaha dukha nāshā

You are the servant of Sri Ram and Mother Sita. I implore you in their names – make no delay. The sky is reverberating with the sound of your glories, the mere remembrance of which dispels all sorrows.

charaṇa sharaṇa kara jori manāvauñ

yahi avasara aba kehi goharāvauñ

uṭhu uṭhu chalu tohi rāma dohā-ī

pāñya parauń kara jori manā-ī

I have come to take refuge at your feet. I plead with you; who else shall I call for help in this time of urgent need? Get up, get up, come along! I urge you with folded hands to swing into action.

oṁ chãṁ chãṁ chãṁ chãṁ chapala chalantā

oṁ hanu hanu hanu hanu hanumantā

oṁ hañ hañ hāṅka déta kapi chañchal

om sam sam sahami parāné khaladal

I implore you O nimble-footed Hanuman with the call of Oṁ chãṁ chãṁ chãṁ chãṁ and Oṁ hanu hanu hanu hanu. Strike swiftly like lightning! O Hanuman, you are swift. Whenever the monkeys roar, the crowd of evil-doers flee in terror.

apané jana ko turata ubāro

sumirata hoya ānanda hamāro

yahi bajarañga bāṇa jéhi māré

tāhi kaho phir kauna ubāré

Save this devotee of yours immediately. I get immense pleasure remembering you. Who can save one who is attacked with the arrow of Bajarang Baan (literally meaning an arrow as strong as a thunderbolt)

pāṭa karai bajarañga bāna ki

hanumata rakshā karaiń prāna ki

yaha bajarañga baṇa jo jāpai

téhi té bhūta préta saba kañpai

Those who recite these verses of Bajarang Baan are protected for life by Hanuman. Even ghosts and evil spirits tremble out of fear of those who chant this Bajarang Baan.

dhūpa déy aru japai hameshā

tāké tana nahiñ rahai kaleshā

Those who wave incense sticks in front of you and chant your holy name are always free from bodily torments of all kinds.

prema pratītihi kapi bhajai

sadā dharai ura dhyān

téhi ke kāraja sakala shubha

siddha karaĩ hanumān

Those who chant Hanuman’s holy name with faith, devotion, and love and always remember him in their hearts are sure to have all their desires fulfilled by Hanuman.

True

A grantha should set forth at the beginning what its main focus is. This is called vishaya. How is the grantha going to benefit those who read it has also to be told. This is prayojana. Who is the adhikari, or the one qualified to expound on the text has also to be mentioned. Sambandha, which is the connection between vishaya, prayojana and adhikari, must also be specified.

Srimad Bhagavatam begins with three mangala slokas, said Valayapet Ramachariar in a discourse. Here the vishaya – that is the main theme of the work – is given as dharma. Vyasa was the author of the work, and it came to us through his son Suka. Vyasa tells us about dharma in this work. There are two kinds of dharma – siddha dharma and sadhya dharma. Siddha dharma is the Supreme One, Lord Narayana. Kathopanishad says that one may be a scholar, or a devotee, but it is Divine will that determines what we should receive. To attain moksha He is the means. Sadhya dharma refers to the means we use to reach Him, like bhakti yoga or Saranagati. Srimad Bhagavatam gives us more peace of mind than the study of Vedanta. It talks about the dharma of virtuous people, whose hearts are pure (nirmatsaraanaam). They are free from pride. Bhagavatam speaks nothing but the truth and adheres to facts (vaasthavam).

The Lord is not just the goal, but the means to attain that goal, and Srimad Bhagavatam shows us this.
