 1. Nitya Ārādhana – The Daily Worship of the Lord Introduction 

A Hindu temple never truly sleeps. From the first awakening of the Lord at dawn until the final service at night, every moment is sanctified by worship. These daily services, known as Nitya Ārādhana, are prescribed by the Āgamas and have been faithfully observed for centuries.

The Lord is worshipped not as a symbol but as a living Divine Presence.

The Daily Cycle 

Although customs vary from temple to temple, the daily sequence generally includes:

Opening of the sanctum. Suprabhāta or awakening hymns. Sacred bath (Abhiṣeka), where prescribed. Alankāra (adorning the deity). Archana and offering of flowers. Naivedya (food offering). Dīpārādhana (waving of lamps). Vedic chanting and recitation of the Divya Prabandham. Darśana for devotees. Afternoon and evening worship. Ekānta Seva, the final service before the sanctum is closed. 

Each service reminds us that devotion is not occasional but continuous.

Just as the Lord receives loving attention throughout the day, our own lives should be filled with constant remembrance, gratitude, and service.
