Somewhere in the Middle of the Season
We are somewhere in the middle of the season.
Not spring enough to begin again,
not summer enough to let it go.
Just standing between
what has changed
and what has not yet arrived.
Perhaps life, too, is like this.
Not beginning again,
not quite reaching the end—
just standing in the present,
somewhere between yesterday and tomorrow.
We wait.
We wonder.
We hope.
And perhaps that is all this season asks of us:
to stand where we are,
to accept what has changed,
to trust what has not yet come,
and to believe that the next season
will somehow know what to do with us.
Maybe it always does.
